Dutch Harbor

Started this painting while hanging out in Dutch Harbor on Conanicut Island. I was struggling with the composition. I ended up adding a boat that wasn't originally there. In hindsight, this REALLY didn't work. I guess the problems were mostly because of painting outside and not being able to deal with the bright hot sun!

Matunuck School House

Back to Matunuck School House Road this morning. Using an 11x14 canvas that is very absorbent so I am finding I have to pile on paint or mix directly on the canvas.

Trapped

Can't get anything done with all this beautiful weather. Trapped in Matunuck!

Prospect Street

Today's effort off of Prospect Street in Matunuck. Early morning light created a wonderful silhouette of the houses on the point.

Belfast Maine

Spending some time in Belfast Maine. Endless resources from which to draw and paint from! These oils are from the Front Street boatyard area. It's been raining off and on for days now, so I have to get out as soon as weather permits and get to it!

Landscapes

Painting the scenery along Matunuck Schoolhouse Road in South County RI. These paintings are around 9"x 15". Oil on plywood sealed with lacquer. As you can see, i am traveling with my "Art Buggie"!
